Queensland Eisteddfod

Rockhampton 2026 

The RMUYC competes at the annual Queensland Eisteddfod over Easter weekend. The children perform 7 choral pieces of music under the direction of our conductresses Mrs Jodie Hiron & Mrs Kate Ellis. Each year the Eisteddfod is in a new location and 2026 will be in Rockhampton.  

This year we will hold a camp and master class weekend in Yeppoon prior to the Eisteddfod for our members. There will be no concert in our hall, but we encourage parents, families and community members to book tickets for the QLD Eisteddfod to see our choir on stage. 

In years we travel away, our volunteer committee members and parents chaperone the camp trip and your child can either travel on the bus and stay at camp or travel and stay privately. Your child does not have to come away to the Eisteddfod but is still welcome to perform at the concert. The fees for coming away at Easter are set once we have an indication of numbers and the bus and accommodations are finalized.
